Peer Coaching: Positive Conversations About Teaching Practice

Growth Coaching International has designed this Peer Coaching Program for pairs of teachers who are already working collaboratively and who seek to extend their practice – in John Hattie's words, become "learners of their own teaching".

The Peer Coaching program brings the simplicity of the GROWTH model to classroom teachers working collaboratively to enhance professional practice and improve student outcomes.

Penny is a highly regarded and experienced educational leader and accredited executive coach, who brings over 30 years as a teacher and principal in NSW schools to her role as Senior Consultant and Coach at Growth Coaching International. Her dynamic and energetic approach to workshop facilitation as well as her experience and deep knowledge of professional learning have enabled her to build relationships with schools across all education sectors.

Passionate about professional learning that is directly linked to teaching practice, Penny’s focus is on Peer Coaching, supporting teachers to work collaboratively with one another, analyzing data collected through classroom observation to set professional learning goals.

As the recipient of a NSW Leadership Fellowship award, Penny researched leadership accreditation in school systems in the UK and North America. Her passion for building leadership capacity was exemplified by roles in Principals’ associations and advisory and planning teams for principal professional learning. Penny has continued this commitment to professional growth at Growth Coaching and has added a range of short courses to her resume, including the Solutions Focused Master Class (Growth Coaching International) in 2014 and DISC facilitator accreditation in 2014.
